Welcome to R. Lukken Imel, DO, MPHCentraCare – River Campus Clinic Pulmonary Medicine welcomes R. Lukken Imel, DO, MPH, to its team. Dr. Imel focuses his care around two phrases that he heard nearly every day during his training. The phrases are, “Just because you haven’t seen a disease, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t seen you” and “Patients are getting better because of you, or in spite of you.” He says, “These two conceptual phrases help reframe my mind to always be humble enough in my approach to not anchor on any preconceived notion and to be diligent no matter what the task is in front of you.”
Clinical interests for Dr. Imel include lung cancer, asthma, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary infection. He completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and his residency in internal medicine at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio.
